Dwarven Battle Bonnet Pattern

Finally, months and months after it first came out, I've found time to write up the pattern for the Dwarven Battle Bonnet.

Yay! Now everyone can have a beard if they want one :)

The pattern is available for $3.00 and has instructions for both hats shown.

Pattern is written for an average adult head but is easily made smaller by starting with a few less stitches and/or working on smaller needles.

eta: 2/9/08 I've had a couple of people ask if I will make to order- these two sample hats are currently available and I'll put them in my shop at www.sallypointer.com/shop for anyone who is seriously interested. thanks for all the kind words about these
eta: 3/9/08 the blond bonnet has now been sold, the red one is still available

Fabulous! Can you give a bit of info on the sizing? They would make perfect Halloween costumes for my kids!

My boys would go crazy for these! A cross between two of their favourite things - balaclavas and vikings. I'm bookmarking you and will get the pattern in a couple of days.

I love these! I send the link over to the Seamstress Guild (US). We're getting ready for the next North American Discworld Con and I imagine that a few of the members will want this pattern. Thank you :-)

P.S. Please feel free to join us, either at the site or the convention.

Do you still have the patterns available? Or are you still making these for those who request it? My boyfriend really wants one, but my knitting experience is limited (read: none).

Thanks!

Hi Courtney,
Yep, there are usually some on the shop at www.sallypointer.com/shop (I think I have a couple I havent loaded up yet too) and the pattern is available over at Ravelry.com

Thanks! For the novice knitter (me), would this be difficult to create? I'm considering trying it, and if I fail, I'll resort to purchasing one :)

If you can knit and purl you should do ok, especially if you do the easier of the two beard patterns. If you sign up over on Ravelry if you arent already a member, I can be eaily reached through the messages there and will help with any difficulties as you go along
